Remembering Stawell (Billy) Garnett and Lionel Burgess - St Michael's WW1 Roll of Honour


During the 9.30am and 11.00am Holy Communion Services on Sunday 15th July 2018, we shall remember another of the 33 men listed on the carved memorial in St Michael’s Church, Elmwood Road.

Stawell William Wade (Billy) Garnett, 38th Battalion Australian Infantry, died on 20th July 1918 in MiIdura, Australia to where he had been repatriated after being gassed in France. See www.stmichaels-elmwoodroad.org/heroes-of-chiswick-stawell-william-wade-garnett/ for more information on Billy.

Almost two months ago we also remembered Lionel Frank Burgess, 7th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, killed in action 26th May 2018 and buried in Mensil Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. See www.stmichaels-elmwoodroad.org/heroes-of-chiswick-lionel-frank-burgess/ for more information on Lionel.
